Monday through Saturday
7 am to 5 pm
Hancock County residents providing proof of residency are allowed to bring directly to King Landfill 10 cubic yards of approved waste free each month. For proof of residency, please bring driver's license and utility bill. Residents will pay $6 for each additional cubic yard of material over the 10 cubic yards limit.
Acceptable Waste Items
- Construction and demolition debris such as wood, metal, etc.
- Brick, mortar, concrete, stone, and asphalt
- Cardboard boxes
- Natural vegetation such as tree limbs, stumps, and leaves
- Appliances that have had the motor removed, except for refrigerators
- Furniture
- Plastic, glass, crockery, and metal, except containers
- Sawdust, wood shavings, and wood chips
Prohibited Waste Items
- Any waste listed above is contaminated by a possible pollutant, such as food or chemical
- Household garbage
- Food or drink waste or liquids from said container
- Industrial waste, unless specifically approved by the OPCI
- Liquids
- Sludges
- Contaminated soils
- Paint or paint buckets
- Oil containers and chemical containers
- Any metal, glass, plastic, or paper container unless specifically approved by the OPCI
- Fabric unless specifically approved by the OPCI
- Paper wastes, unless specifically approved by the OPCI
- Engines or motors
- Refrigerators, freezers, or air conditioners
- Whole tires
- Cut or shredded tires, unless specifically approved by the OPCI
- Batteries
- Toxic or hazardous waste
- Asbestos and asbestos-containing material
- Medical waste
- Televisions, computer monitors, and microwaves
- No electronics of any kind
- Other waste which may have an adverse effect on the environment

- Where can I dispose of tires?

Presently, there are 2 locations in Hancock County.
- North Barn: 18382 Highway 43, Kiln, MS
- South Barn: 6284 Lower Bay Road, Bay St. Louis, MS
A homeowner is allowed to drop off a maximum of 25 tires per year.
- Where can I dispose of my TV?

It is recommended to store hazardous waste until Hancock County Hazardous Waste Day if possible. The exact date of the Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is announced each year. The next Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023.
- Where can I dispose of old furniture?
